Definition
A combi tank, or tank-in-tank cylinder, is a storage unit in which a smaller drinking-water tank sits inside a larger buffer volume of heating water. The buffer is charged by a heat pump, boiler or solar coil and heats the inner tank through its wall, combining DHW and buffer storage in one footprint. It suits compact single-family systems, especially with solar support.
